Vy Le

Vy is a registered provisional psychologist working with children, adolescents and adults. She aims to take a client-centred approach when working with individuals in order for them to achieve their life goals.

Vy has experience working with individuals, particularly adolescents and young adults, presenting with concerns about depression, anxiety and anger.

She utilises therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Vy is also fluent in speaking Vietnamese.

Our psychologist is dedicated to inspiring growth and evolution in women. She holds an Islamic Psychology Diploma from Cambridge Muslim College (UK) and a Master of Applied Positive Psychology (University of Melbourne). She is an accredited EMDR and Schema Therapy practitioner. She has worked in both public and private clinical settings during her 20 years of professional experience. She has served culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) women with various psychological presentations including anxiety, depression, and trauma.

She is dedicated to supporting her clients lead meaningful lives in order to cultivate what is best within them and to enhance their experiences of love, work, and play. She offers a distinctive conversation in a private space providing practical strategies. She is also a qualified Strength Profile Practitioner, using scientific assessments to gain deeper insights into what is unique about individual personalities. Clients get clear on who they are, what they stand for while accepting their limitations. These meaningful insights allow clients to learn how to make better decisions, be the best versions of themselves and live purposefully.

Our psychologist is registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency. She is a Member of the Australian Psychological Society; CAPP Strength Profile Certified; Member of the International Positive Psychology Association; Member of The International Society of Schema Therapy; Member of The EMDR Association of Australia and is an approved NSW Victims Counsellor. Please note, she does not work with workers compensation, provide medico-legal court reports or insurance cases.

 

 

Maryam Sachawars

Maryam Sachawars is a registered Psychologist with a Master in Counselling. She speaks fluent Farsi (Persian) and Dari. She has over 12 years of experience working with diverse populations and presentations.

Maryam worked as a bilingual clinician with the Transcultural Mental Health Centre for many years, before moving into private practice. Her interest lies in improving women’s and adolescents’ mental health via individual counselling. She also provides couples counselling, family counselling and facilitates therapy groups and workshops.

Maryam believes strongly in education and prevention as important tools in the area of mental health. She is also SIRA and Workcover accredited.

Hero Rawanduz

Hero Rawanduz is a registered Psychologist who has extensive experience working with people of culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) backgrounds. She understands and speaks Arabic and Kurdish.

Hero works with adolescents and adults to address a range of mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma and stress-related disorders.

Hero adopts a client-centred approach utilising evidence-based interventions, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness, Solution-focused therapy and Motivational Interviewing to assist clients with addressing their concerns and achieving their goals.

Kim Dang

Kim is a registered Psychologist who has experience in counselling, psychotherapy and assessments, and has worked with diverse populations across the lifespan. Kim has worked with children, adolescents and adults in the areas of mental health, disability and early intervention.

Kim specialises in the treatment of autism spectrum disorders and intellectual disabilities. She has worked for several years in the disability sector where she collaborated closely with families, schools, disability agencies and other healthcare professionals to provide behaviour intervention, family support, individual counselling and psycho-education.

Kim also specialises in the use of evidence-based therapies to treat a range of presenting issues including Anxiety Disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, adjustment disorder, OCD, anger management, emotional disorders, and trauma (including complex trauma). Kim is also experienced in helping clients with identity issues, social skills difficulties, and relationship problems and has helped clients cope with life transitions, grief and loss, and trauma.

Kim is skilled in the use of CBT, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Mindfulness. Kim has delivered child and adolescent intervention programs such as the Cool Kids Anxiety Management program and the Stop Think Do social skills program, as well as facilitating adult group training on topics including anxiety, depression, self-esteem, distress tolerance, resilience, and behaviour management.

Kim firmly believes that every client is unique in their needs, goals, and life experiences and she takes an individualized client-focused approach in her practice of psychology.

Kim is passionate about being an advocate for vulnerable and/or marginalized populations who face social exclusion, discrimination, or injustice. She believes in using her skills and experiences to help others overcome barriers and reach their full potential in an open and non-judgmental environment.

Our senior Psychologist is a Behaviour Support Practitioner and a Clinical Psychology Registrar. She works with clients across the life span from children to adolescents and adults with emotional, social, behavioural and mental health difficulties.

She is passionate about working with clients who may not have had progress seeing other Psychologists or are experiencing barriers to achieving mental wellness. She has extensive experience in working with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, depression, stress, anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship issues. She works collaboratively with her clients using evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and positive behaviour support (PBS).

She enjoys being able to provide a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space where her clients feel supported and understood, and experience healing and change.
