Samira Khan

Samira is an experienced Clinical Psychologist who conducts assessment and intervention for a variety of presentations including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, self-esteem issues, attachment and interpersonal difficulties, emotional dysregulation, grief, and trauma.

Her personal style is friendly, warm, and caring. To help foster a meaningful therapeutic relationship, Samira works with her clients from the outset to identify clear therapy goals, discuss treatment plans, review progress and flexibly readjust strategies when needed.

Samira has completed advanced level training in both Schema Therapy and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy, which allows her to tailor therapy plans to each individual client. Outside of work, she loves spending time with family and friends and keeping them entertained with real-life stories, fascinating facts, and lots of laughter.

Samira can also speak fluent Bengali.

Mariam Mourtada

Mariam is a dedicated psychologist who has over 10 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in private practice. Mariam is bilingual, fluent in both English and Arabic. She strives to adopt a culturally sensitive and effective treatment tailored to individuals’ needs.

Mariam has a passion for understanding and addressing anxiety, PTSD, complex trauma, challenging behaviors, and interpersonal difficulties. She employs a wide range of therapeutic modalities, such as Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

Mariam adopts a warm, relaxed, client-centered approach to therapy. She is committed to supporting clients, helping them navigate through various mental health challenges, and empowering them to lead fulfilling lives.

Mostafa Elgashingi

Mostafa is an experienced psychologist and board-approved supervisor. He has significant expertise in treating and working with post-traumatic stress disorder, drug and alcohol issues, depression, anxiety, acute psychosis, personality disorders, youth & gang-related issues, anger management, at-risk behaviour, and crisis management.

Mostafa is personable in his interactions with clients, incorporating humour into his therapeutic approach. He fosters a safe, comfortable and relatable atmosphere for clients to engage in meaningful dialogue and growth.

Mostafa is bilingual and can speak Arabic.

Jason Abbas Aramideh

Jason is a Behaviour Support Practitioner currently completing his Ph.D. in neurosciences in the School of Medicine at the University of Sydney. Jason’s research focuses on synaptic plasticity following nerve axotomy. Jason has experience across a variety of age groups and diagnoses as a Behavioural Practitioner, especially Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), and Intellectual Disability (ID).

Jason has a particular interest in working with Culturally & Linguistically Diverse (CALD) communities.

Jason is able to speak in Persian (Farsi) and can understand Arabic and Urdu.

Ayesha Sadozai

Ayesha Sadozai is an experienced paediatric clinical psychologist with a special interest in assessment and disability.

Ayesha has worked in various teams within NSW Health, these include the Child and Family Team in South Western Sydney and the Diagnostic Service in Illawarra and Shoalhaven. She is currently working with children with complex motor disorders and brain injury in NSW Health. She is keen to bridge the gap between research and evidence based practice with clinical practice.

Ayesha has experience in assessment and intervention with children with a range of behavioural challenges as well as a range of neurodevelopmental conditions, such as:
– autism
– ADHD
– selective mutism
– intellectual disability
– anxiety
– complex trauma

Ayesha is completing her PhD on neurodevelopmental conditions and their relationship to executive functioning in the paediatric population. Her project aims to identify distinct cognitive markers of executive dysfunction in ADHD, autism, specific learning disorder and tourette’s syndrome in children. Her PhD will allow for increased understanding on how early interventions can be tailored to specific developmental disorders in children, as well as those children that present with comorbidities. It will also enhance understanding on how specific cognitive functions are impacted.

Ayesha is bilingual and is fluent in speaking Urdu.

Gemma

Gemma is a registered Psychologist who has experience providing counselling and psychological treatment for a range of mental health concerns faced by adolescents and adults.

Gemma has a background in behaviour intervention, and through her years of work at Disability Services Australia (DSA), she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in working with developmental and congenital disabilities. She has significant experience working with neurodiverse individuals with a dual diagnosis and complex mental health needs. She provides management and treatment to clients with severe intellectual disability who also suffer from a mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, complex-trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder and personality disorders.

As a certified clinical hypnotherapist, Gemma is skilled in providing hypnosis for a wide range of behavioural and medical issues. Gemma believes in providing a ‘whole-person’ treatment approach on a variety of issues including: depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, grief and loss, childhood and adult-onset trauma, self-esteem and body image issues, and relationship counselling / marriage counselling.

Gemma is also a qualified trainer and group facilitator. Gemma runs training and group therapy sessions for individuals and families looking for positive strategies and lifestyle solutions to their mental health problems.

Gemma integrates a range of therapeutic approaches to provide short-term solution-focused counselling as well as long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy. She values diversity and individual expression, and seeks to empower individuals in line with their valued life direction.
