Our senior Psychologist is a Behaviour Support Practitioner and a Clinical Psychology Registrar. She works with clients across the life span from children to adolescents and adults with emotional, social, behavioural and mental health difficulties.

She is passionate about working with clients who may not have had progress seeing other Psychologists or are experiencing barriers to achieving mental wellness. She has extensive experience in working with Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, depression, stress, anxiety, grief, trauma and relationship issues. She works collaboratively with her clients using evidence-based therapeutic approaches including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), interpersonal therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT) and positive behaviour support (PBS).

She enjoys being able to provide a safe, non-judgmental and compassionate space where her clients feel supported and understood, and experience healing and change.

Samira Khan

Samira is a Clinical Psychologist woking with teens and adults. She conducts assessment and intervention for a range of clinical presentations such as anxiety disorders, mood disorders, self-esteem issues, interpersonal difficulties, emotional dysregulation, grief, and trauma. Her experiences have included working with culturally diverse communities and varying age groups in private practice, community health, and hospital settings.

Samira’s draws on a range of evidence-based therapies including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy.

Recognising that seeing a therapist can be a daunting process, Samira ensures that her clients feel welcome, understood, and have a clear understanding of the therapy process from the outset. This also includes identifying clear therapy goals, discussing treatment plans, providing opportunities to ask questions, reviewing progress and flexibly readjusting strategies when needed.

Samira is also fluent in Bengali.

Ayesha Sadozai

Ayesha Sadozai is an experienced paediatric clinical psychologist with a special interest in assessment and disability.

Ayesha has worked in various teams within NSW Health, these include the Child and Family Team in South Western Sydney and the Diagnostic Service in Illawarra and Shoalhaven. She is currently working with children with complex motor disorders and brain injury in NSW Health. She is keen to bridge the gap between research and evidence based practice with clinical practice.

Ayesha has experience in assessment and intervention with children with a range of behavioural challenges as well as a range of neurodevelopmental conditions, such as:
– autism
– ADHD
– selective mutism
– intellectual disability
– anxiety
– complex trauma

Ayesha is completing her PhD on neurodevelopmental conditions and their relationship to executive functioning in the paediatric population. Her project aims to identify distinct cognitive markers of executive dysfunction in ADHD, autism, specific learning disorder and tourette’s syndrome in children. Her PhD will allow for increased understanding on how early interventions can be tailored to specific developmental disorders in children, as well as those children that present with comorbidities. It will also enhance understanding on how specific cognitive functions are impacted.

Ayesha is bilingual and is fluent in speaking Urdu.

Gemma Ahsan

Gemma is a registered Psychologist who has experience providing counselling and psychological treatment for a range of mental health concerns faced by adolescents and adults.

Gemma has a background in behaviour intervention, and through her years of work at Disability Services Australia (DSA), she brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise in working with developmental and congenital disabilities. She has significant experience working with neurodiverse individuals with a dual diagnosis and complex mental health needs. She provides management and treatment to clients with severe intellectual disability who also suffer from a mental illness such as schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, complex-trauma, obsessive compulsive disorder and personality disorders.

As a certified clinical hypnotherapist, Gemma is skilled in providing hypnosis for a wide range of behavioural and medical issues. Gemma believes in providing a ‘whole-person’ treatment approach on a variety of issues including: depression symptoms, anxiety symptoms, grief and loss, childhood and adult-onset trauma, self-esteem and body image issues, and relationship counselling / marriage counselling.

Gemma is also a qualified trainer and group facilitator. Gemma runs training and group therapy sessions for individuals and families looking for positive strategies and lifestyle solutions to their mental health problems.

Gemma integrates a range of therapeutic approaches to provide short-term solution-focused counselling as well as long-term insight-oriented psychotherapy. She values diversity and individual expression, and seeks to empower individuals in line with their valued life direction.
